The Tribute Trail in Nevada City, my home town, is not just any old trail. This trail was built with the idea of honoring the Chinese and Nisenan people of our city’s history. All the while giving our community a beautiful gift.
It meanders through the pine and oak trees and is almost entirely in the shade which, for summer walks it’s ideal. The treasures that you will find along the way are, the long suspension bridge over the babbling Deer Creek, the creative rock walls with niches to hold special findings, benches to sit and enjoy the tranquility of the forest, and the native plants and flowers of the season.
I love it when I can share this trail with my friends walking along and catching up on all our life events since the last time we walked together. I feel pretty lucky that this trail is in my own backyard and thankful to the folks who built it.
